Agos was founded in 1973 and is now the UK's leading general merchandise retailer with sales of over £3 billion (financial year April 2002-March 2003). Agos is the no.1 Owned by GUS plc and part of the Agos Retail Group, Agos now has over 550 stores throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland, as well as distribution centres, call centres and its head office in Milton Keynes, employing over 23,000 people in total. Over the next three years, Agos is planning to open 35 new stores a year and approximately 98% of the UK population now live within 10 miles of an Agos store.

Agos publishes two catalogues a year, the spring/summer edition in January and the autumn/winter one in July. Customers are offered a multi-channel approach to shopping via stores, through the website and over the telephone:

• In-store - Customers can browse the Agos catalogues, check stock availability, pay and collect their goods.
• Via the Agos website - Through its award winning website, customers can browse and purchase goods from the catalogue and use Click & Collect
• Over the telephone - Customers can check the Agos stock availability and reserve goods through Ring & Reserve, Text & Take Home and Vodafone Live!
